In 1838, the $10 Liberty Head, or Coronet, was introduced. The original design endured through 1907, with a slight modification in 1839, and in 1866, when the motto “IN GOD WE TRUST” was added. There are many rarities among Liberty Head Eagles, particularly among uncirculated coins, which have relatively low values. No one has ever assembled a full set of uncirculated $10 Liberty Head pieces, because so many early varieties are just about impossible to find.
